Welcome to ICM 2

Welcome to the second year and to the ICM II course. ICM II will build on the clinical skills you learned in ICM I. This year in your College small groups, you will interview and examine patients in the hospital, write up these complete evaluations, and practice clinical reasoning and oral case presentations.  Our lectures cover advanced medical communication, exam, and clinical problem-solving, as well as an array of skills you’ll need in third year and beyond: working with interpreters, caring for patients at the end of life, and more. We’re looking forward to an exciting and interesting year, and hope you are too!

If you are wondering where the ICM II syllabus, the website is the syllabus.  There is no single PDF of the entire syllabus.  However, you can always refer back to this website to review material in the future.

A single PDF of the Benchmarks is now ready to download.

Hi,

Several Mentors have asked that the PIC Report be made available to students to illustrate to them how much the patients enjoy and appreciate this experience. In response to this, the PIC Report will now be posted on the ICM II website.

If anyone is not familiar with this report, the Patient Interview Coordinators routinely go back to ICM II patients to perform a questionnaire which includes questions about the interview/exam, the mentors, and the bedside teaching approach. This Report is a summary of their responses.

Thanks,

Leonora
